We have added version control as a project option. Users can check out documents and check documents back in. When a document is checked out, other users are not able to edit the index values. They can view the documents but cannot change any information pertaining to that document. Users can upload new versions. They can view version history for each document and set previous versions as the active version.

Due to the table structure changes involved, we will not implement version control on the ASP version until the first weekend of November. The ASP version has multiple tables that need to be updated and synchronized and each project requires a structure change. The update and structure change distribution is a very long and tedious process. We will require the site to be down during this process and want to ensure that all scenarios and possible issues are considered prior to making these changes.

In the administration and edit projects menus, there is now the ability to set index values as read only. The index values are enabled in the indexing mode but are disabled in the editing process. This is a very powerful feature and can be very useful to most users for most projects. Most projects will benefit by setting required index values as READ ONLY as well.

Due to the structure changes required and the multiple copies of data maintained by ImageFreeway, these changes will be made during the night of Saturday, October 18, 2008. The website will be down during these changes.
